Romania Retail Sales Rise In February

Romania's retail sales increased in February, data from the National Institute of Statistics showed Tuesday.

Retail sales turnover excluding sales of automobiles increased a seasonally and working-day adjusted 3.0 percent annually in February.

Sales of food, beverages and tobacco rose 7.2 percent annually, while sales of auto fuels in specialized stores edged down 0.1 percent. Food product sales decreased 0.9 percent annually in February.

On an unadjusted basis, retail sales grew 1.3 percent from a year ago.

Month-on-month, retail sales decreased a seasonally and working-day adjusted 2.5 percent in February. However, on an unadjusted basis, sales declined 1.7 percent during the month. (Provided by RTTNews)

Romania February Producer Price Inflation At 5.9%

Romania's producer prices increased in February, data from the National Institute of Statistics showed Tuesday.

The overall producer price index increased 5.9 percent annually in February. Month-on-month, producer prices rose 0.8 percent, after rising 0.6 percent in January. Prices continued to rise for the sixth month in a row in February.

Producer prices of goods sold in the domestic market advanced 1.1 percent on a monthly basis in February.

Prices in the mining and quarrying increased 2.3 percent annually in February, while prices in manufacturing rose 6.0 percent in February. (Provided by RTTNews)
